Extensions (no, not wigs!)

heck, this gig started as an extension of our riffing at bars, parties, concerts, out on the street with friends – the usual suspects and any other jamokes who crash our thing – not counting people named patrick! really, don’t count patrick.

the riffing, on every subject on the planet, is an extension of the riffing we’ve done over the length of our friendship over the years as we’ve weaved in and out of touch between girlfriends and other life changes. (i could have said woven, but i chose not to. and, boy, is that extensions video creepy!?)

so, wes reads an article about folks who are kicking it on youtube and says to me – “hey, we can do that.” Duh.

hell. put a local microbrew, wes’s oddball mixed drink (see video below!) and some haute cuisine in front of us on the podcast and it’s pretty much what we do, anyway.

given all our yakkin’, we have figured out everything there is to know, and we will impart this knowledge to you, as we move ahead. wes is the head of our old and bald guy knowledge repository, as i am neither bald nor old and just play the role of jk. a shout out to our make-up gal, ping yamoura!

hello, earthlings. welcome to your one-stop source for all things pertaining to the life and times of OBGs everywhere. these are EXCITING times for our particular subset of the populace. 

i mean, are we actually old? is 65 the new 35? is bald the new full-head-of-hair? is vin diesel a sex symbol – yeesh?!

old. in days of old, men of our ilk were done. men much younger than us played the part of the washed-up dads on situation comedies that were “aired” on things called “television sets.” now, in the “Century of the Old Bald Guy” (we have petitioned the united nations to proclaim this – haven’t heard from them??), we are climbing mountains, fronting the rolling stones with our shirts off, being president, shipping the kids off to college and surveying the promising horizon, and getting it done!

bald. bald guys are everywhere. whoa, telly savalas (Αριστοτέλης Σαβάλας), today – just another dude! the fully shaved head is all the rage with no end in sight, and a good load of us bravely carry on the dignity of male pattern baldness, just like our fathers and their fathers; right back to the primordial swamp in ireland-somewhere.

that said, we at OBGs are presenting this site for everyone – OBGs, guys who will be OBGs, sympathetic bald-challenged guys, and you wonderful women who support and attempt to understand us.
